Introduction:
I wrote this homework essay on April, 2014. This is talking about my own ideas about whether homework should be banned.
Reflection:
The most difficult part is also to find examples and evidence for my topic and I think I did well on organization of the essay. I’m not good at writing argument essay, so I have learned how to practice on it, and if I have chances to do it again, I will fix the problems I still have and improve it.

Homework Essay
Is
homework necessary or should schools ban homework for students?
First Draft:
Nowadays, school’s homework gives students more and more pressure. There are certain teachers and experts call on decreasing homework for students. In this case, I assert homework is unnecessary to students and the homework should be banned.
As we all know, the world now become more and more competitive. For taking in better students, school asks for the students who have higher grade. Thus, schools in order to keep students hard working, they will assign many projects to students for exercising.
Students spend much time on working projects and homework and that’s the reason why some students don’t figure their homework. Students are doing too much homework instead of sleeping on the night. There are some statistics for the time of finishing homework. For high school, students spend as much as 17.5 hours for homework each week. Students in high school spend at least 2.5 hours on doing homework every day. Students have no time and vigor to finish too much homework, math problems and history projects are complicated for students.
In addition, some schoolchildren finds there is no relationship between hard working at home and better grades. There is a research by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. They found more homework assignments would help students get better-standardized test scores, but not better grades. A lot of homework close students’ thoughts, students are doing homework for finishing homework.
Some educators say students don’t do homework because they think teachers are not going to check, and most of students consider that teacher ought to teach them in class, not learning by doing homework at home. The goals of assigning homework when the students don’t finish in the room after teachers giving them time to work.
For these reasons, I support schools should ban homework for students.
Final Draft:

First, students spend much time on working projects and homework and that’s the reason why some students don’t figure their homework. Students are doing too much homework instead of sleeping on the night. There are some statistics for the time of finishing homework. For high school, students spend as much as 17.5 hours for homework each week. There is an example from a college student named Aurora, she said ‘I could actually have a life then instead of doing homework all day. I could participate in extracurricular activities like I used to when I participated in lacrosse but now I can’t because my grades are slipping due to not finishing homework. I could do fun things instead of homework because it keeps me cooped up inside like a prisoner in a jail cell and I hate it!’ There is another example of a parent, she said ‘My first-grade son was required to research a significant person from history and write a paper of at least two pages about the person, with a bibliography. How can he be expected to do that by himself? He just started to learn to read and write a couple of months ago. Schools are pushing too hard and expecting too much from kids.’ Students have no time and vigor to finish too much homework, and math problems and history projects are complicated for students.
Second, a lot of homework close students’ thoughts, students are doing homework for finishing homework. They copy the homework from others for accomplishing homework to teachers.
Thus, some schoolchildren finds there is no relationship between working hard at home and bettere grades. There is a research by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. They found more homework assignments will help students get better standardized test scores, but not better grades. Some students pay a lot of time to do their work, but the grade result isn’t expected to their mind. If there are too much homework for students, they cannot spend the time after school on relaxing themselves and staying with their families.
Last but not least, some educators say students don’t do homework because they think teachers are not going to check. Most of students consider that teacher ought to teach them in class, not learning by doing homework at home. The goals of assigning homework when the students don’t finish in the room after teachers giving them time to work. In addition, there is a sentence said by a student, if teachers give lots of homework, they have no time to check and grade it, so when students are given back their homework, they are entering into next new unit. In a word, a lot of homework is also unnecessary to students, teachers cannot grade all of it.
Students spend lots of time on doing homework, it close students’ thoughts and keep students copying others’ homework. What’s more, homework is used to let students to get knowledge which teachers have no time to teach in the class, so teachers should finish their teaching in the class and make sure students can understand and use it.
