Introduction:
I wrote this essay for my video on June, 2014. This essay is talking about people shouldn’t give up when they meet troubles and I’m talking about my stories.
Reflection:
The most important part is to write your statement and find quotations, and I think I did well on describing my own ideas and connecting it to my story. I have learned that how to choose a good statement which is important to your essay. If I have chances to do it again, I will make my essay be easier to read and use more new words.

Never Give Up
I believe although others laugh at you, when you re doing the things you love, you shouldn't lose your head. Keep doing what you love even though you do it alone.
I am Johnson Tan, a fifteen-year-old Chinese boy who studying in SUIS and I have changed a lot in this high school. I’m happy my father chose for me to go to American high school. He has experienced more than me, and he told me whatever what I do, I can’t give up unless you don’t care about the result. For myself, I won’t give up doing the things I love, even though others laugh at me.
The first time I played basketball, the gym was full of students, I was afraid of playing with them because I was not good at it. During that time, I went to the gym after school every day. I tried to learn from others and practice by myself because I didn’t want others to see me. Gradually, I made some friends with the people who always came to gym play basketball and I was not afraid of joining their competitions any more. At the time, my basketball skills needed improvement, and my teammates never passed me the ball. After all, they had been playing much longer than me. I lost when I challenged others almost every day, but playing basketball is my favorite sport.
When I was on the way home, I was tired after losing again and again. There were some people told me I couldn’t play basketball well. However, their words motivated me to improve. I still remembered my best friend was joking with others about me. He said I was useless in a competition. I just turned around and left there without saying a word. I picked up my ball and went home alone. I told myself with a tear, you should quit. This is not good for you.
Tobias Wolff once said, “We are made to persist. That's how we find out who we are.” I was persistent again, I went to the gym next day as I did before.
If I ever have a chance to go through difficulties, I do it. I keep playing basketball with others. Gradually, more and more people ask me to join in the basketball team and they always think I have a quick improvement. If you love doing something, do it with persistence and you will never cry. This I Believe.
